Variable PCD wheel bolt M12x1.5 / conical seat / 28 mm / 17 mm hex – Carbonado
Correction of a small PCD difference
Variable PCD wheel bolts are used to install wheels whose bolt pattern differs slightly from the bolt pattern of the vehicle hub. Their special design with a floating seating surface allows a small offset between the bolt axis and the wheel bolt hole to be compensated.
The bolt has an M12x1.5 thread, a threaded length of 28 mm, a conical seat and a head designed for a 17 mm wrench. It can be used with appropriately matched alloy and steel wheels.
The difference in PCD must not exceed 2 mm. For example, wobble bolts allow the installation of:
- a 5x112 wheel on a 5x110 hub,
- a 5x110 wheel on a 5x112 hub,
provided that all other wheel and fastening parameters are correctly matched to the vehicle.
Wobble bolts are not intended to compensate for larger bolt pattern differences and do not replace correct centering of the wheel on the hub!
Floating seating surface
A characteristic feature of the bolt is its floating conical seat, which can move relative to the axis of the bolt shank. This allows the seating surface to align with the wheel seat when there is a small difference in PCD. Once tightened, the bolt ensures that the wheel is clamped in its correct mounting seat.
Zinc coating
The bolt surface is protected with a zinc coating, which provides corrosion protection for the steel component and gives it a bright, attractive finish. Zinc plating is commonly used to protect fasteners exposed to moisture and weather conditions.
Property class 10.9
The bolt has a property class of 10.9, suitable for connections requiring high mechanical strength. This class defines the mechanical properties of the bolt, including its tensile strength and yield strength. The 10.9 marking is stamped on the bolt head.
Markings for easy identification
The bolt head is stamped with markings indicating the thread diameter and pitch, allowing its basic specifications to be easily identified without the need for additional measuring tools. The head also features the 10.9 property class marking.
Correct installation
Before installation, make sure that the thread, bolt length, seat type and permissible PCD difference are suitable for the wheel and vehicle.
The bolts should be tightened to the torque specified by the vehicle or wheel manufacturer. For final tightening, the use of a torque wrench is recommended to ensure that the correct tightening torque is applied.
Carbonado – wheel mounting accessories
The bolt belongs to the Carbonado range of accessories, which includes wheel bolts and nuts, wheel security products and hub centric rings. Carbonado products are designed for wheel installation and accessories, with an emphasis on manufacturing precision and correct matching of technical specifications.
