Carbonado PREMIUM centering rings
Purpose of centering rings
Centering rings eliminate the problem of manufacturers using different hub diameters on different car models. This solution makes it possible to install aftermarket aluminum wheels on vehicles. For the user, this means a large selection of rim designs and attractive prices compared to the original rims, the so-called "dedicated" rims.
When assembling an aluminum rim, the centering ring makes it possible to achieve compatibility of diameters:
- the center hole of the rim,
- of the hub in the car.
Rings should be used for aluminum rims, the size of the center hole of which is larger than the size of the hub in the car. In this case, without rings, it would be difficult to properly center the wheel on the hub. The result could be "wheel run-out" while driving or vibrations on the steering wheel at speeds of 80-120 km/h, as well as faster wear of the steering and suspension.
PREMIUM quality
PREMIUM rings are a selected group of Carbonado brand rings, which, due to the highest precision of manufacture and special profiling, guarantee the best fit during installation. These rings are made of hardened ABS plastic. As a result, they are characterized by adequate hardness and resistance to cracking under the most dynamic loads. In addition, ABS plastic, unlike metal, does not "bake" on the hub, which makes the removal of such rings easier.
Plastic centering rings, however, with all their advantages, are cheaper than metal ones, and their service life is equally long (provided that the installation and removal of wheels is performed correctly).
Selection of rings
In order to select the appropriate size of rings, it is necessary to determine two dimensions:
- thediameter of the center hole in the rim, which is to match the outer diameter of the ring...,
- thediameter of the hub in the car, which should match the inner diameter of the ring.
You can check the dimensions of the center hole in the rim manufacturer's specifications, while the diameter of the hub - in the documentation of the car (the Internet can be helpful for this). You can also use a caliper and check the above dimensions yourself, and if in doubt, contact us - we will help you determine the correct dimensions.
Note: when fitting the ring, it is permissible to round off one of the dimensions by 0.1 mm. This value should not be exceeded.
