The manual clamp commonly referred to as the "third hand" is an extremely useful addition to the tire assembler. The third hand prevents the tire from slipping off the rim during mounting. All you have to do is lock the partially mounted tire on the rim edge and wait for the machine to apply it all the way. This makes it possible to mount the tire alone.
The premium version of the third hand is clamped onto the rim using a screw with a convenient knob. This provides a firmer grip than a standard spring clamp. The risk of the instrument slipping is practically eliminated, which is also helped by the appropriately shaped jaw and the rubber pad of the clamp base.
The mounting clamp is made of durable composite material, which gives the tool the durability required in a professional vulcanization service. The composite material also prevents scratching the rim.
The premium third hand is equipped with a special cap that increases the distance between the rim edge and the tire by 20 mm. The overlay can be easily removed from the clamp base if necessary.
