CUB TPMS Sensor AID 4.0 EVO pressure sensor programmer
Already known to many users of the CUB brand, the 4.0 model (in February 2020 it received the "GOLD MEDAL MTP" award for modern and innovative solutions, confirming the excellence of the product) has lived to see a modified and expanded version.
A tool for the professional
CUB's Sensor AID 4.0 EVO is an advanced TPMS pressure sensor programmer, the successor to the popular Sensor AID 3.0 programmer. The new version has received a number of expanded options to help manage information about serviced cars. It has also been equipped with new functions and an easy-to-read interface, and the whole thing is enclosed in a brand-new, handy and dustproof case with a color display.
Universal solution
If you're wondering which TPMS programmer to choose, we can assure you that the Sensor AID 4.0 EVO is an ideal, modern tool for diagnosing all sensors (OEM and replacement), as well as for programming universal CUB Uni-Sensor sensors - as clones or sensors with a new ID number. With this device and universal CUB sensors, you can have a comprehensive solution for direct TPMS service on virtually all passenger cars from the European and American markets.
Tire database
However, the new release of the Sensor AID programmer is not only a set of basic functions typical of most TPMS programmers. Specially for tire service centers and tire storage facilities, the device has implemented the ability to create a file - a database containing a range of information about the customer's tires and vehicle. Thanks to this, the service technician literally "holds in his hand" all relevant data related to the service of TPMS sensors. Thanks to the use of the new functions, a comprehensive documentation of the condition of the wheels and sensors in the customer's car can be made - a database containing: the date of reading, customer data, VIN and vehicle registration number, sensor condition, tread condition, as well as photographs of the vehicle and wheels, for example.
EVO - truck service
"EVO", in addition to all the features of version 4.0, allows operation of trucks. The manufacturer has fully prepared for changes in the law in our economic area. We are talking about the REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL (EU) 2019/2144 of November 27, 2019 on type-approval requirements for motor vehicles and their trailers (OJ L 325, 16.12.2019, p. 1) and its related, as far as TPMS is concerned, UN Regulation No. 141, which contains detailed requirements for this system for specific categories of vehicles.
In addition to passenger vehicles, the indicated regulations make the use of TPMS (according to the new definition of the system) mandatory for vehicles in categories:
- M2, M3 - bus
- N2, N3 - heavy vehicle
- O3, O4 - truck trailer/semi-trailer
The said regulation also indicates key dates:
- Date from which EU type approval is denied: July 6, 2022.
- Date from which vehicle registration and the marketing and approval of components and separate technical units are prohibited: July 7, 2024.
Sensor AID 4.0 EVO has an expanded vehicle database. Currently, in addition to passenger vehicles, the user has the option of selecting trucks that fit into the categories covered by the aforementioned regulation. Without change, in accordance with CUB brand policy, users receive a free update in this regard. As part of the adjustment to support trucks, the mechanical tread depth gauge has also been modified, now allowing up to 20 mm to be measured.
Advanced features
CUB's proven reputation as one of the leading suppliers of TPMS accessories, as well as a number of clever features that CUB has implemented in the new version, speak in favor of choosing Sensor AID 4.0 EVO as the diagnostic and programming tool for direct TPMS operation. Among the programmer's key advantages and features are:
- support for trucks and trailers equipped with a direct pressure control system
- more than 98% of supported cars equipped with direct TPMS (both from the European and American market),
- diagnosing OEM sensors and their replacements - universal sensors,
- programming of CUB Uni-Sensor universal sensors as a clone or a sensor with a new ID number,
- writing and reading sensor ID numbers from the vehicle's memory using OBDII module,
- a wireless OBDII module that can be connected to the programmer via Bluetooth connectivity,
- a built-in camera that can be used, for example, to document the vehicle's tire condition,
- scanning of barcodes and QR codes (e.g., to facilitate recording of VIN no.),
- recognition of license plates of various formats,
- tiretread depth measurement with the ability to record results for 3 zones of each tire,
- recording of vehicle tire data - separately for each wheel (including spare): tire size and type, DOT designation, pressure, sensor ID, battery status, and rim type.
- adatabase of procedures for training cars to TPMS sensors - now always at hand,
- built-in flashlight (LED) to assist the camera and code scanning in low-light situations,
- TFT color screen and clear, intuitive graphical interface (also in Polish),
- menu in Polish,
- large control buttons with a well felt stroke (operation even with thick gloves is not a problem),
- ergonomic casing finished with rubberized anti-shock and anti-slip cover, as well as small weight (about 600 g) and size make it easy to hold the device in hand,
- ease of updating the database of supported cars and lists of sensor apprenticeship procedures - now updates can be uploaded via Wi-Fi,
- magnet necessary for the excitation of some OEM sensors.
Software
Along with Sensor AID 4.0, the user receives TIM software for archiving and viewing programmer-stored data on the computer. From the computer, you can print out a detailed report for the customer about the tires and TPMS sensors in his car. It is also possible to print the saved images or copy them to another location. The program also allows short notes to be entered into the vehicle's card, and the location of tires can be stored in the storage room.
